My visit to the Jean-Michel Cousteau resort at the tip of Savusavu Bay, was nothing less than a visit to true paradise. Fantastic massages. Beautiful colorful pearl jewelry. Snorkeling in crystal clear water, where you see giant clams, colorful starfish and a myriad of fish. Magnificent sunsets. Wonderful, friendly people. Great food and special juice drinks. Sustainability Efforts
Marine conservation is key here: the resort has an in-house marine biologist, a reef protection programme and a giant clam-breeding project. As in traditional Fijian villages, buildings are tailored to their tropical environment, with natural, flow-through ventilation, sustainable timber construction and roofs thatched from local reeds. Produce from the organic garden is served in the restaurant, eco-friendly Pure Fiji toiletries are used in the spa, and water is recycled through lotus-dotted lagoons.

Snorkeling
Discover the many snorkeling sites either directly off the pier or a short boat ride away. Fiji is the soft coral capital of the world and due to the waters surrounding the resort being part of a marine reserve, the abundance of marine life is extraordinary.
You can dive at the world-famous Namena marine reserve site and explore the waters surrounding the resort. These areas offer the largest variety of fish and coral on the planet; seemingly bottomless drop-offs, multi-colored soft corals, and perfect coral gardens supporting an abundance of spectacular marine life.
Resident Marine Biologist
Helping to preserve the coral reefs is high on our list of priorities. Johnny, the staff marine biologist, participates in an international program that monitors the health of reefs all around the world. Guests are always welcome to join Johnny whenever he conducts assessments on the reefs surrounding the resort. Johnny leads educational presentations on local marine life as well as day and night snorkeling trips.
