Slickrock is on its’ own private 13.1 acre island which is part of Belize’s renowned marine reserve system, Glover’s Reef. The island is developed with a light touch to maintain its rustic, tropical charm while ensuring comfort. Each private cabana is perched above the pounding surf. The fully-equipped kitchen prepares seafood and indigenous dishes. Cold beer and soda (included in the trip price) and a solar-powered electric system, along with a thorough treatment program for bug control, are just a few of the “extras” you will not find on any other adventure tour.
Long Caye Adventure Camp is an off-the-grid Belize family resort powered by renewable energy and a great place to relax.
All trips include instruction and use of top-quality equipment. Single and double sea kayaks, windsurf gear for all ability levels, state-of-the-art sit on top surf and whitewater kayaks, fully-outfitted fishing kayaks, surf boards, stand-up paddle boards, kiteboard trainer kites, and a Belize scuba school are standards in the Belize tours. Long Caye boasts the only Belize surf camp, and the windsurf center is a destination for beginners and experts alike. The flexible island itinerary allows you to design each day, and inland the non-stop activity ensures you aren’t paying for “downtime.” You experience these sports with professional instructors—rare on a standard tour. And the variety means that whether you are traveling alone or with your family, everyone finds something they want to pursue.
You will find reefs directly off the shores of this private island, nearby snorkeling spots with your kayak, and ride a dive boat 10 minutes to many pristine dive spots. The lagoon inside Glover’s atoll and the surrounding area are prime dive and snorkel areas. The PADI dive shops tailors your dives to your ability. You can get fully scuba certified or dive three times a day if you are already certified.
“Why I loved diving off Glover’s Reef: (1) I wore just a 1.5mm suit – no need for a hood or thick suit; (2) It’s a wonderfully remote site – there aren’t hundreds of divers or live-aboards all over the place; (3) the coral is beautiful and the fish abundant – I also saw a number of turtles and dolphins; (4) It was great to have such great diving so close the island – no need to travel far distances!”

We have only been to Belize as a cruise stop. We have wanted to go back and explore more, but I think I need a flushing toilet. LOL
