    1. Selina Noise

I really like the concept of Selina. And I’m appreciative for the revenue all of Bocas Del Toro’s tourism businesses generate for Bocas’s native population, businesses and government.

However, Selina at Red Frog on Bastimentos Island in Bocas Del Toro Panama is choosing entertainment over environmental stewardship, unfortunately.

Every Wednesday evening from eight until midnight Selina is hosting parties with nonstop house, industrial and trance music and blasting it all throughout the jungle and beaches at an extreme volume. So loud, I can hear it in my home more than a mile away – with all my windows closed.

This cannot be good for the wildlife and sea life that depends on auditory cues for mating, feeding, communication and navigation past predators. I am especially concerned for those creatures that are nocturnal, such as sloths. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that they are being driven out of their natural habitat by Selina’s callous carelessness.

I have contacted several representatives at Selina Red Frog and Selina corporation on three different occasions. The first time I was given an apology and told that my complaint would be investigated and addressed but, nothing transpired. The following two times, my emails and texts were ignored.

While today’s nomads can experience amazing destinations around the world, sadly, these environmentally sensitive places and their native wildlife and sea life won’t exist in the near future if Selina continues to disregard it’s responsibility as stewards of these environments they bought into and continue to pollute in the name of entertainment for its guests.

      Shame on Selina.

  1. What an interesting travel concept. I love how they bring locals into the communities as well so you can learn more about the place you are staying.

  2. This is amazing! I have never heard of it before! Im sure that this concept will really take off in the future!
