Isla Zapatillas, Half Day

A short boat ride takes you to two uninhabited islands emerging from the surrounding coral reef. Experience pristine sandy beaches, clear turquoise water, and abundant fish activity within the National Marine Park. This adventure can be customized to include relaxing on the beach, and guided snorkeling in the vibrant protected coral reef from the shore or boat. $65 per person, $32 per child (12 and under)

Salt Creek, 2 Hours

One of the most exciting and important aspects of Casa Cayuco’s eco-experience is getting to know the people and customs of Salt Creek, our neighboring Ngäbe-Buglé indigenous village. Salt Creek is home to all our employees and their families. It’s a very special place and the most integral part of our mission. Mangrove Snorkeling, Half Day

Witness a healthy reef filled with beautiful soft corals and sponges up close. This colorful underwater garden is home to a variety of sea creatures including octopus, jellyfish, crabs, sea cucumbers, and several species of star fish. This magical place is only 25 minutes from our dock, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for pods of dolphins along the way! $65 per person, $32 per child (12 and under)

Botanical Chocolate Farm Tour, Half Day

Hike through beautiful botanic gardens while finding out how organic chocolate is made in a sustainable manner. You will get to learn all about the chocolate making process, local flora and fauna, and get the opportunity to taste various delicacies straight from the garden. Finish your visit with a hydrating cup of chocolate iced tea while perusing the range of tasty chocolate products available for sale. $65 per person, $32 per child (12 and under)

Bat Cave Tour, Half Day

Your adventure begins at Bahia Honda, a remote village near the centre of Bastimentos National Marine Park. Our guide will take you on a boat ride up a small creek via cayuco, followed by a one-kilometer hike through the jungle to reach the caves. Enter the extensive cave system using a headlamp to find your way, and marvel at thousands of bats who call this area home. $65 per person, $32 per child (12 and under)

Monkey Island, 2 Hours

Spend your morning visiting a unique and remote mangrove, home to the Monkey Island Foundation. Monkey Island is dedicated to the ongoing preservation and rehabilitation of local Capuchin monkeys, actively working to rehabilitate sick monkeys and remove monkeys from captivity. The project founder, Francine, will lead you through an educational tour; during which you will be able to handle, learn about and feed social, friendly, healthy monkeys. $55per person, $28 per child (12 and under)

Sloth Creek, 1 Hour

Embark on a peaceful boat ride through dense mangrove channels while searching for sloths camouflaged in the trees. This serene adventure is perfect for explorers who prefer a more relaxed experience over a jungle trek. Enjoy the peaceful surroundings and the rich biodiversity of this unique ecosystem. $25per person, $12per child (12 and under)

Surfing, Half Day

Discover less chartered surf breaks in the Bastimentos National Marine Park accompanied by our experienced guides. Please note, we are not a surf school. You must be a strong swimmer and confident on a surf board. $50 PER PERSON, $25 per child (12 and under) (2 person minimum)

Nidori Beach, Full Day

A one-hour boat ride will take you to the remote village of Ensenada on the Peninsula of Punta Valiente. After a short hike to the windward side of the island, you will arrive at the pristine beach known as Nidori, where the surf is excellent for surfers of any skill level. Relax on the white sand beach, visit the local village, swim among the waves, or play soccer with the locals. These are just a few of the activities this excursion has to offer. $100 per person, $50 per child (12 and under) (3 person minimum)

Casa Cayuco Sendero, 2 Hours

Starting at Casa Cayuco, you will hike through the jungle in a loop bringing you back around to the front of the property. You may encounter poison dart frogs, sloths, monkeys, and numerous bird species along the way. Rehydrate with a drink straight from a young coconut that your local guide will prepare for you at the halfway point. $12 per person, $6 PER CHILD (12 AND UNDER)

Caiman Trail, 2 Hours

Your local guide will meet you in Salt Creek and begin with a short tour of the community before departing on a hike filled with information about the local flora and fauna. Find out how many of the plants in the area are used for medicinal purposes while keeping your eyes peeled for caimans, poison dart frogs, monkeys, sloths, and numerous bird species along the way. $18 per person, $9 per child (12 and under)

Pelicano Trail, Half Day

Begin with a tour of Salt Creek village before heading into the rainforest terrain with your local guide. Hike over a hill to reach the the gorgeous Los Pelicanos beach on the eastern coast of Isla Bastimentos. You will have the opportunity to go for a swim before continuing along the beach trail to complete the loop back to Casa Cayuco. $24 per person, $12 per child (12 and under)

Red Frog Trail, 1 Hour

A 15-minute hike through the indigenous village of Salt Creek brings you to a beautiful trail filled with red frogs. Discover Ngäbe culture while keeping your eyes peeled for the elusive poison dart frog. These teeny tiny frogs are considered one of Earth’s most poisonous species, their bright colors warn potential predators not to eat them.  $18 per person, $9 per child (12 and under)

Lionfish Spearing, 2 Hours

Lionfish are not native to the Caribbean, and due to having no natural predators they are causing widespread devastation to coral reefs and other marine species. Lead by a professional local guide, you can try your hand at spearfishing for this invasive species.  $32 PER PERSON, $16 PER CHILD (12 AND UNDER)

Fishing, Half Day

Join our experienced guides on a fishing excursion and learn how to use a traditional Panamanian hand-line technique. $150 per trip

EQUIPMENT INCLUDED in your Stay: Complimentary sea kayaks, stand up paddle boards, binoculars, snorkel gear, and yoga mats are available to use whenever the mood strikes you. There is also a volleyball net that our team can set up in the water upon request.

Massage Therapy: Enjoy a relaxing massage from our in-house therapist while listening to the soothing sounds of the rainforest. $90 for 60 minutes, $120 for 90 minutes
