Txai Resorts hotels are located in places of rare scenic beauty with natural surroundings, ensuring ecological sustainability, responsible social development and respect for the culture and local community, always following the guiding principle of harmony between man and nature. Set on a coconut and cacao farm surrounded by forest, this remote, luxurious beachfront resort is 11 miles from the town of Itacaré.
Chic bungalows and apartments made of bamboo and palm are set on wooden decks and stilts. All feature free Wi-Fi and balconies, and most have outdoor showers. Upgraded units add private pools and/or ocean views. There are 3 restaurants, 4 bars and 5 outdoor pools, plus a spa, an ocean-view fitness room and a tennis court. Other amenities include a reading room, guest lounges, and surfing, tai chi and capoeira classes.
Txai Resort strives to minimize their environmental impact by promoting ecotourism activities that respect the Atlantic forest of southern Bahia, considered to be one of the greatest biodiversity on the planet. Employees of Txai are taught about recycling, composting, treating sewage water and biodiversity.
Pousada Araras Pantanal Eco Lodge
Pantanal is the largest floodplain of the planet, and UNESCO declares the place as World Heritage and Biosphere Reserve, the true wildlife sanctuary of South America. This great biodiversity includes approximately 698 species of birds, 80 species of mammals, 26 of fish and 50 of reptiles. Here you will find excellent birdwatching, walk on trails in primary forest and on suspended walkways over wet areas, canoeing, explore fields and forests on horseback, take day and night photo safaris in appropriate vehicles, and much more, everything with the permanent assistance of naturalist guides.
The suites are equipped with splint air-conditioning, ceiling fan, screened windows and private bathroom with hot and cold shower. Built in regional rustic style, 19 comfortable rooms are available with air conditioning with screened windows, ceiling fans, private bathrooms (cold and hot shower); a swimming pool with an adjoining covered area for meals, large verandas with hammocks, gift shop, bar, and restaurant.
Araras Eco Lodge takes measures to reduce the impact on the surrounding area. These include the use of solar power, rotating trail use, respecting wildlife distances, organic waste is used to feed pigs and chickens, and recycling. The Araras Pantanal Eco Lodge has the honor to participate in a plan for conservation of the of the hyacinth macaws since 1990, by distributing artificial nests, planting manduvi and chimbua trees where 75% of the natural hyacinth macaws nests are found.
Itamambuca Eco Resort
Itamambuca Eco Resort is located in a private reserve of overgrown by the Atlantic Forest, at the river junction with the sea from scenic Itamambuca Beach. Rich in flora and fauna, the ecological reserve borders the State Park of Serra do Mar, one of the most important Atlantic Forest areas of Brazil. A natural sanctuary which houses the largest plant biodiversity of the planet and thousands of animals species. At the Itamambuca river banks you can see the immense wealth of mangroves, home to about fifteen species of crabs, fish, turtles, crustaceans and dolphins.
The hotel offers three apartment categories: Master, Luxury and Bungalow, all with balcony with a view of the ecological reserve with a coastal theme decoration. Its architecture – worked with reforestation wood, bamboo and glass. A camping area is available in a forested area on the beach. Activities included in the resort grounds are tennis, water aerobics, football, kids theatre, guided walks, basketball, yoga volleyball and board games.
The stage for some of the most important surf competitions, Itamambuca presents regular waves all year long. However, it’s not only the surf what stirs this beach with attractions for people of all ages. While children can play in the clear waters of the Itamambuca River, adults can relax next to the Atlantic Rainforest ecological reserve.
Cristalino Jungle Lodge
The Cristalino Lodge is ideal for people who like nature and want to be a part of the local conservation effort. The hotel was presented with the World Savers Award in 2008, by Condé Nast Traveler, and was selected in 2013, by National Geographic Traveler, as one of 25 best Ecolodges in the world, due to the authentic experiences it provides, along with comfort and responsible tourism. The concept is to keep the forest standing, while conducting activities related to ecotourism in the southern Amazon, a region that is recognized worldwide as one of the most important, in terms of biodiversity.
In addition to practicing responsible tourism, the hotel supports the Cristalino Foundation, an organization that is devoted to environmental education, human development, minimizing human impact on the environment and carrying out research in the region. Everything is geared towards sustainability through tourism, helping you to integrate with nature. Built of wood, with cool ceramic tile flooring, the bungalows and premier rooms blend into the vegetation and are naturally ventilated, using ceiling air ducts. All accommodations have turndown service, solar water heating and biological waste treatment, emphasizing the commitment to responsible tourism.
A wide range of outdoor activities is available. The half-day tours take place each morning and afternoon. Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge
Anavilhanas offers a wide variety of activities and tours in each of its Experiences. According to the number of days at the Lodge, a schedule is designed with the essentials to experience the Amazon, with safety, comfort, and adventure. Activities include piranha fishing, touring the rivers for pink dolphins, hiking on drylands forest, canoeing through creaks and flooded forests, sailing through the Rio Negro, and visiting the local community.
The Hotel carries out the Project of cultural appreciation and support to the D.Pedro II school located in the riverside community of Santo Antônio. The Anavilhanas staff is primarily made up of people who belong to the local communities. By raising the awareness of employees and residents of the surrounding communities about the importance of responsible management of tourism in the Amazon, they have seen results such as increased schooling, conscientious use of the soil, reuse and recycling of materials, generation of complementary income and appreciation of local culture.
The Hotel has its own photovoltaic power plant generating 100% of the electricity used in the our operation. The regional boats (used in the tours on the Rio Negro) have also solar energy system, providing a reduction in noise and burning fossil fuels. The water heating system is made by solar panels and stored in thermal boilers, avoiding the consumption of gas and reduction the need of electricity. The sewage from Anavilhanas is collected and treated in biological cesspools.
